Forkcast

Budget dinners, planned

Dinner sorted. Shop done.

Say how many of you, how many dinners and what you can spend. Forkcast plans the week around shared ingredients, so less goes in the bin, and gives you one shopping list.

Free. No account. Costed from average UK shop prices.

How it works

Three questions, one list.

  1. Tell it about your week

How many people, how many dinners, your budget, and anything you don't eat.

  2. Get a week that shares the shop

Forkcast picks dinners that use the same packs: the rest of the mince bag, the other half of the tin. Swap any night you don't fancy.

  3. Shop from one list

Packed food in whole packs and loose veg by weight, grouped by aisle, with a running total. Tick things off as you go, copy it to your phone, or print it.

Where the prices come from

Real UK prices, not guesses.

Each ingredient is costed from the Office for National Statistics' price quotes: the prices its collectors record in shops across the UK every month. We use the median price for each item (January 2026, the latest month the ONS has published grocery prices for). Packed food is rounded up to whole packs, the way you actually buy it; loose fruit and veg are costed by weight.

Budget supermarkets are often cheaper than the median, and convenience stores dearer, so treat the total as a guide. Cupboard basics like oil, salt, garlic and stock cubes are listed for you to check but aren't in the total.
